- Refraction is highly desirable to level up first, as the increased number of instances is key in playing mindgames. The attack damage increase is also significant.
- Alternatives to the recommended build include getting treads, as a partial solution to her early game mana problems via tread switching, or skipping Blink Dagger for Drum of Endurance and/or Yasha.
- Use Psi Blades as a harass. It has a great spill radius, and not only can it be used to farm more effectively, but also to harass heroes. (If you are soloing the mid lane or otherwise.)
- Place Psionic Traps at the rune spawn points and in the Roshan pit to gain vision.
- Denying with Refraction active will not use up a charge. To play the hero to maximum efficiency, use denies + the spill damage from Psi Blades to get your last hits. This will effectively give you unlimited offensive refraction charges.
